Employee of the Month: October 2018

Eva was nominated as employee of the month by Catherine Huston.

“Eva struggled to move up to Triage, for a long time. She did not believe she could master the position, and instead asked to be placed in any other position when she worked. Then came along her confidence in her work and things quickly changed. Now she is one of our top Triagers. She is quick and has humor to add to uncomfortable situations if needed. She can make thoughtful decisions but she isnt afraid to ask for another opinion of needed. This superhero deserves to be Employee of the month because she is the E in TEAM!”

About Eva:

Length of time at Abodea:  1 Year and 9 months

What positions have you held at Abodea?  Reception, Dispatch Triage and Mentoring

What is your favorite part of the job?  When I started, I had a hard time understanding the maintenance lingo but the tenured employees are very helpful and detailed in giving instructions. They never left me behind until I mastered every level. Aside from that, it makes my day when I know that both basic troubleshooting and the vendor dispatched fixed the maintenance issues on the same day that they have been reported.

What is the funniest moment you can think of that happened during your work at Abodea?  When someone called looking for his date. He was laughing so hard and apologized that he dialed our number accidentally.

Why is the work we do at Abodea so important to you? To be able to provide my family, my parents, and charities.
